The Superior Model website is a portal that provides a focused search for the programs, services, and resources in our communities that support the mental health of children and youth.

Our objective is to promote and support the positive behaviour, well-being and mental health of all children and youth in our communities in order to maximize their full potential, success and achievement. This is achieved through collaborative planning and coordination of services.

This website was developed collaboratively by the Student Support Leadership partners in Superior Greenstone and Thunder Bay with our data partner, 211 Ontario North.

Thunder Bay Arts and Heritage Alliance are proud to announce the launch of the new ThunderBayCulture.com web site. This site will feature information on many of the arts, heritage and cultural organizations and businesses in Thunder Bay. The Calendar section will allow all of their members to easily post and manage events all in one place. The original ThunderBayCulture.com web site was managed by Thunder Bay Regional Arts Council until they disbanded years back. Unfortunately their website had needed a new organization to manage it.

Manitouwadge Sets up Dedicated Classified Web Site

The Township of Manitouwadge has launched their very own classified web site. Manitouwadge Stuff is a full featured classified web site that allows users to upload their own ads with photos to sell items. There are no advertisements and no charge to list items. Another great feature is the Yard Sale Map allowing visitors to post their yard sales and visitors to easily view upcoming yard sales on an interactive Google Map.

Northern Food Connections Conference

Join us for the second annual Northern Food Connections conference on March 4, 2011 at Confederation College. The theme this year is Growing Relationships, Harvesting Opportunities. There is an exciting line-up of presenters and activities planned. The conference will open with a presentation by Bryan Gilvesy, a multi award-winning farmer from Southern Ontario with expertise in species at risk. Mr. Gilvesy’s Y U Ranch produces Local Food Plus certified beef, dealing directly with consumers in Southern Ontario.

You will also learn from keynote speaker David Abazs of Finland, Minnesota’s Round River Farm, an expert in sustainable farming and a new locally grown diet. Mr. Abazs is an acclaimed presenter who can demonstrate how we can feed ourselves directly from our region only.

We will also be joined by James Murphy of Savour Muskoka who will share his story of the development of his region’s community agricultural assets. An evening networking event and culinary tour will feature local food from area farmers prepared by local chefs, restaurateurs, caterers, Confederation College’s culinary arts staff and students.

The Northwest Regional Mental Health and Addictions Network are committed to educating professionals in the city and region on concurrent disorders. We recognize that this is a specialty population whose numbers are growing as is the complexity of their care needs. For the sixth year in a row, we are pleased to offer the Building Bridges Mental Health and Addictions Conference. The theme for this year’s conference is “The Story of Healing: Engagement Using Narrative Practices”
